What is trending?! There are always new trends emerging in the wedding industry. This year’s theme has been integrating new traditions, new textures, and mixing up what is expected of a traditional wedding or special event! There are so many possibilities! What are some of the trends we are currently trying out and what upcoming special event trends are a must have?
The Flower Wall
The earthy and romantic feel of a well-crafted flower wall can make for a series of absolutely gorgeous photos. There are a couple ways you can go about making your own custom flower wall for your special event. You can opt for real flowers and go for a overall vibrant or ombre effect. You can also DIY a flower wall with fake flowers from your local craft or hobby store. While this may take a little time and transportation, you will be able to keep it afterwards! Create panels with a sturdy base and allow time for construction on the day-of. The flower colors should match the aesthetic of your event. Make sure you have a photobooth set up or keep the photographer in the loop!
Desserts Beyond the Cake
Who needs a cake when there are so many sweet treats to choose from! Take a leap from the traditional notion of needing a cake at a special event or wedding. Set up a create-your-own sundae bar as an alternative! Your guests will love being able to concoct their own dessert and feel the nostalgia of enjoying a classic sundae. We also love the alternative to cakes emerging such as a doughnut wall or a doughnut tower! No matter which way they are presented, everyone LOVES a good doughnut! You won’t have to worry about cake cutting or distribution, either!
Adding Activities
A good event has some fun activities for the guests to participate in. No need for children to have a blast in an adult bouncy castle! You can even rent a bounce house that is white for a wedding! Another alternative activity is to spice up the night with karaoke, always guaranteed to bring out some talent (and laughs)! For a wedding or special event to honor someone, create a trivia game that will play off the guests’ knowledge of the couple or person who is the focus of attention!
